Summary

This project will fund the employment of a contractor to undertake control measurers on populations of invasive golden wattle (Acacia pycnantha) native to south eastern Australia, in four sensitive reserves in the Gillamii sub region, as well as increasing awareness in the local community and promote landholder action strategies for invasive weeds.

Outcome

  • Treat golden wattle infestations in four reserves in the Gillamii sub region, Lake Porrarecup Reserve, Cranbrook Wildflower Walk/Town Water Dam Reserve, Mosgiel Road/Albany Hwy/Lancel Road Reserve and Tenterden Nature Reserve.

  • Increase community awareness through a mail out and social media posts, hand pull seedlings, ringbark order plants or drill and apply glyphosate.
